Description:
Common Uses: This medicine is a laxative used to clean out the bowel before surgery or other procedures. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Ingredients:
Generic Name: POLYETHYLENE (pol-ee-ETH-i-leen)GLYCOL (GLYE-kole) ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION

Directions:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Your doctor will tell you when to start using this medicine. BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE fill the container with the amount of water indicated on the package label. SHAKE WELL. After preparing the solution, STORE THIS MEDICINE in the refrigerator in a tightly-closed container. Use within 48 hours. CHILLING THIS MEDICINE improves the taste. Do not add sugar, sweetening agents, or other additives to this medicine. SHAKE WELL before taking each dose. DRINK 7 TO 10 OUNCES of this medicine every 10 minutes until the stool is watery, clear, and free of all solid matter, or until it is gone. It is best to drink each portion quickly rather than sipping it. Rinsing your mouth with mouthwash after each glass of medicine may help get rid of the taste. Discard any unused portion of this medicine.

Cautions:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include nausea, bloating, and stomach fullness. Stomach cramps, vomiting and rectal irritation may also occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience persistent or severe nausea and vomiting, vomiting of blood, slowed heartbeat, or muscle weakness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. THE FIRST BOWEL MOVEMENT usually occurs about 1 hour after you begin drinking the medicine. DRINK ONLY CLEAR LIQUIDS from the time you start this medicine until your procedure is complete. Do not eat any solid food for at least 2 hours before you begin drinking this medicine. Also, do not eat solid food until after your surgery or procedure is complete. Possible Side Effects: SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include nausea or bloating. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience vomiting, severe bloating, or stomach pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
