Lipitor (Atorvastatin)
Lipitor (Atorvastatin)
Product Details
Customer Reviews
 Only available by prescription.

Description:
Chemical Name ATORVASTATIN Lipitor is used with diet changes to reduce the amount of cholesterol and certain fatty substances in the blood. It works by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body. Buildup of cholesterol and fats along the walls of the blood vessels decreases blood flow and, therefore, the oxygen supply to the heart, brain, and other parts of the body. Lowering blood levels of cholesterol and fats may help to prevent heart disease, angina, strokes, and heart attacks.

New brand pill form of small round tablet cannot be split

Directions:
Each health care professional may prescribe medications differently according to a patient’s medical history and condition to ensure that they are getting the best possible results. Typically, LIPITOR is usually taken once a day, at the same time, with or without food. LIPITOR starts to work in approximately 2 weeks. It is advisable that patients check their cholesterol levels throughout their treatment with LIPITOR, as dosage levels may be changed based on the test results.

It is advised to stop using LIPITOR if you:

  • become allergic to LIPITOR or any of its ingredients
  • have liver disease
  • are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
  • are breastfeeding
  • experience uncontrolled seizures
  • experience an electrolyte imbalance (high/low potassium levels in your blood)
  • have severely low blood pressure
  • have a severe infection or illness

Strictly follow the instructions indicated on your prescription label and as given by your health care professional. Do not ingest more or less medication than recommended. Do not change the dosage or stop taking your medication without your health care professional’s approval.

Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.

Cautions:

Additionally, some medications should not be taken with LIPITOR. Advise your health care professional about all the medicines you are taking including prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins and/or herbal supplements.

Side Effects:
