Prednisone is a corticosteroid similar to a natural hormone produced by your adrenal glands. Prednisone relieves inflammation and is used to treat certain forms of arthritis, skin blood kidney, eye, thyroid and intestinal disorders, severe allergies and asthma. Prednisone may also be used to prevent rejection of transplanted organs and certain types of cancer.

SIDE EFFECTS that my occur while taking this medication includes upset stomach, stomach irritation, vomiting, headache, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness, depression, anxiety, acne, increased hair growth, easy bruising and irregular or absent menstrual periods.
