Description:
Nevanac is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery.

Nevanac (Nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) Ingredients:
Active Ingredient: 0.1% nepafenac ophthalmic suspension

Nevanac (Nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) Directions:
1 drop in the affected eye 3 times daily, beginning 1 day before surgery, continued the day of surgery, and for 2 weeks postoperatively

Nevanac (Nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) Cautions:
There is the potential for cross-sensitivity to aspirin, phenylacetic acid derivatives, and other NSAIDs.

Potential for increased bleeding time and increased ocular tissue bleeding associated with surgery; use caution in patients with bleeding tendencies or drugs that prolong bleeding time

Topical NSAIDs with or without topical steroids may delay healing.

Topical NSAIDs may cause keratitis; discontinue if patient has signs of corneal epithelial breakdown.

Caution in patients with complicated or repeated ocular surgeries, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, corneal denervation or epithelial defects - increased risk of potentially sight-threatening adverse events.

Increased risk and severity of corneal adverse events if used for more than the recommended duration.

Do not apply while wearing contact lenses

Safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients < 10 years old or during lactation.

Nevanac (Nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) Side Effects:
Possible side effects include: capsular opacity, decreased visual acuity, foreign body sensation, increased intraocular pressure, conjunctival or corneal edema, dry eye, lid margin crusting, ocular discomfort, hyperemia, pain, pruritus, photophobia, tearing, or vitreous detachment.
