Description:
This medicine is a corticosteroid used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions.

Vanos (Fluocinonide) Directions:
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TO USE THIS MEDICINE: apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands after applying this medicine, unless your hands are part of treated area. DO NOT BANDAGE OR WRAP the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE on the face, groin, or armpits. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Vanos (Fluocinonide) Cautions:
DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or use this medicine for longer than 2 weeks without checking with your doctor. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using this medicine. This medicine should only be used to treat small areas of skin, and should be stopped once your condition is under control. AVOID GETTING THIS MEDICINE IN YOUR EYES. If you get this medicine in your eyes, flush them thoroughly with water. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE HAVING IMMUNIZATIONS (VACCINATIONS) while you are using this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while using this medicine. IF YOU HAVE DIABETES, this medicine may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask you doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine.

If your symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children.

Vanos (Fluocinonide) Side Effects:
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include stuffy nose or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience burning, itching, irritation, dryness, or redness at the treatment site; a change in skin color; deterioration of the skin; or unusual tiredness or weakness. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience signs of skin infection (such as severe redness, swelling, itching, or oozing), symptoms of increased blood sugar (such as increased hunger, thirst, or urination), or wheezing. An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
