What is a Generic Drug?
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

Description
Biktarvy is a prescription drug for treating Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1) in adults who have never been treated for HIV before or who have suppressed viral loads. It contains a combination of three different drugs that attack different parts of the HIV particles.
Directions
Take Biktarvy exactly as directed by your doctor. The usual dosage is one tablet by mouth every day with or without food.

Cautions
Do not take this drug if you are taking dofetilide or rifampin.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney or liver problems before starting this drug.
Stop taking this drug if you develop lactic acidosis symptoms while taking it.
It is not recommended to use other antiretroviral medications while using Biktarvy.
Do not take this drug if you are also infected with the hepatitis B virus.
