Pravachol is a medicine that belongs to a class of drugs known as HMG CoA reductase inhibitors or statins. It reduces the level of triglycerides or unhealthy cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein or LDL) while promoting levels of good cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein or HDL) in the blood. Regular use of this drug decreases the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart problems in people who suffer from coronary heart disease. This medicine can be used by adults and children who are over 8 years old.

Directions
Follow the instructions of your doctor regarding dosage as he may occasionally change the dose for better results. Read and follow the instructions on the label carefully.
