What is Sinemet CR Used For?
Chemical Name: CARBIDOPA (KAR-bi-doe-pa) and LEVODOPA (LEE-voe-doe-pa)Sinemet CR is a combination product that contains two substances that are levodopa and carbidopa. This drug is used to treat Parkinson's disease. Sinemet medication is used for treating symptoms of Parkinson's disease that may include tremors, shaking, stiffness, or movement issues. It is caused due to reduced levels of dopamine (a neurotransmitter in the brain that affects emotions and movement) in the brain. Levodopa belongs to the type of drugs known as central nervous system agents.
This substance works by converting itself into dopamine and restoring levels of dopamine reaching the brain. Carbidopa carries out its function by preventing the breakdown of levodopa while moving through the bloodstream to reach the brain. It also helps reduce side effects of levodopa itself such as nausea.

Directions
