What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

    Directions

Carefully read the instructions that come with your Ryaltris prescription. Use as prescribed by your doctor. If you have any questions or concerns, tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Shake the bottle well before you use Ryaltris.

Before using Ryaltris for the first time, or if you have not used it in 14 days, prime the pump by aiming the tip away from your eyes and face and quickly and firmly pressing down on the pump six times until you see a fine mist.

Your doctor will determine an appropriate Ryaltris Nasal Spray dosage for you. Patients generally use two sprays in each nostril twice a day.

Before using Ryaltris, blow your nose gently to clear your nostrils. Next, close one nostril with your finger and insert the nasal tip into the other nostril, pointing it away from the nasal septum.

Slightly tilt your head forward and quickly press down one time on the finger rests to activate the pump. Gently inhale through your nose as your spray, then exhale through your mouth.

Keep your head tilted forward immediately after using it to prevent the medicine from going into your throat. Wait at least 15 minutes of using Ryaltris before you blow your nose.

Use a clean dry tissue or cloth to clean the tip of the bottle.

Put the dust cap on and store Ryaltris upright at room temperatures between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Do not put Ryaltris in the freezer or refrigerator.
