Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

For many years dating back to our great grandparents, apple cider vinegar has been used to help overcome certain health problems.

It has been stated to help with weight loss, lower blood sugar, and even cure hiccups. These are just a few of the reasons you should make sure you make use of apple cider vinegar that has been sitting in your kitchen for ages.

So how is apple cider vinegar formed?

Well, there is a two simple step processes.

The first step is to cut up apples into chunks and mix with water. This is then left overnight for a few weeks which will ferment. The natural sugars that are found in the apples will form into alcohol.

Also, the mixture will begin to grow healthy bacteria which comes in the form of acetic acid which is why there are so many health benefits that are linked to apple cider vinegar. On the other hand, organic unfiltered cider vinegar contains strands of protein, enzymes and healthy bacteria which are also linked to the health benefits.

Here is a list of a few health benefits that are linked to apple cider vinegar:

1. Can Kill Bacteria

Apple cider vinegar has typically been known as an organic way to clean household items by getting rid of unwanted bacteria, but it can also do the same thing for your body. This is because it contains acetic acid which can kill bacteria and prevent them from spreading.

For instance, for centuries vinegar has been used to clean wounds by disinfecting the area that has been exposed to dirt and bacteria. There have also been studies that have been done which show how apple cider vinegar helps reduce acne when applied to the skin.

2. Lowers Blood Sugar Levels

Having high blood sugar levels is a major cause for type 2 diabetes and may kinds if chronic diseases. However, by including apple cider vinegar into your diet it can help reduce high blood sugar levels and also keep it at a healthy level.

Apple Cider Vinegar improves insulin sensitivity and also lowers blood glucose. And only having 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar has shown to reduce levels of blood sugars by almost 34%. However, if you are taking blood sugar medications it is important to consult with your doctor before introducing apple cider vinegar into your diet.

3. Weight Loss

If you are trying to lose some weight than introducing apple cider vinegar can help with this process. This is because it has the ability to reduce blood sugar levels which is also linked towards decreasing your cravings of unhealthy foods.

In addition, many studies have shown how apple cider vinegar increases your metabolic rate and also helps you eat fewer calories which can help with losing weight. But it is important to remember if you want to lose weight successfully you need to make sure you have a healthy diet and physical activity.

4. Heart Health

Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid which has shown to reduce blood pressure which is linked to a healthy heart. In addition, other studies have shown how apple cider vinegar helps reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

However, these studies have only been done on animals which lead to the possibility that the same effect of reducing blood pressure, cholesterol and triglyceride levels may not have the same effect on humans.

5. Stops Hiccups

Hiccups are annoying and sometimes impossible to stop; but not anymore. This is because a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar has shown to have the ability to stop hiccups from occurring.

A young teen had an amazing idea of converting apple cider vinegar into lollipops which can help stop hiccups by "overstimulating the nerves in the throat responsible for the spasms".

6. Stomach Relief

Apple cider vinegar is known to help various different stomach problems. For example, it is known to help with bacterial infections that cause diarrhea or an upset stomach. This is because it contains antibiotic properties which kill unwanted bacteria in your immune system.

It can also help with heartburn because the acidic that is found in apple cider vinegar neutralizes acids and restores pH levels in the body. All you need to do is mix 2 to 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a warm glass of water; which is a lot cheaper compared to over the counter medications.
