A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use.     Anodan-HC (hydrocortisone - zinc sulfate) is used to treat hemorrhoids.

    Anodan-HC is available in an ointment and a suppository.


    Use Anodan-HC as directed by your doctor. For additional instructions for use, including proper storage, carefully read the medication guide that accompanies the product.

    Recommended dosing for the ointment: use in the morning, after every bowel movement, and at bedtime.

    Recommended dosing for the suppository: insert one suppository into the anus in the morning, after every bowel movement, and in the evening.

    Inactive ingredients in Anodan-HC ointment include germaben II and petrolatum.

    Patients who are allergic to hydrocortisone, zinc sulfate, or to any of the other ingredients in the medication should not use Anodan-HC. In addition, patients who have tuberculosis, bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections should not use Anodan-HC.
