A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

    Description

    Atopiclair nonsteroidal cream is a prescription medication that is applied to the skin to treat itching, burning, and pain associated with various types of skin conditions, including atopic dermatitis and allergic contact dermatitis.

    Atopiclair is available in a 100 gram tube.

    Directions

    Use Atopiclair exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you have about the medication.

    Apply Atopiclair to the affected area(s) of the skin two to three times a day as needed. Gently massage the cream into the skin. Do not get the cream in your eyes. Wash your hands before and after using.

    The product should not be used if it has expired or if the packaging is damaged.

    Store Atopiclair at room temperature up to 25°C (77°F).

    Ingredients

    Atopiclair cream ingredients include deionized water, ethylhexyl palmitate, pentylene glycol, butyrospermum parkii, capryloyl glycine, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, arachidyl glucoside, behenyl alcohol, arachidyl alcohol, bisabolol, tocopheryl acetate (antioxidant), glycyrrhetinic acid, carbomer, ethylhexylglycerin, piroctone olamine, sodium hydroxide, allantoin, DMDM hydantoin, vitis vinifera, disodium EDTA, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, sodium hyaluronate, propyl gallate, telmesteine, and butylene glycol.

    Contraindications

    Patients with an allergy to any of the ingredients in Atopiclair cream should not use the medication.

    Cautions

    • Before you begin using Atopiclair cream, talk to your doctor about:
      • All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use, including other topical medications
      • Your allergies
      • Your current health problems and past medical history
      • Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
    • Atopiclair cream contains shea butter, which is derived from shea nut oil. Therefore, patients who are allergic to nuts or nut oils should speak with their doctor before using this product.

    Side Effects

    Atopiclair cream may cause skin irritation. Contact your doctor right away if you have side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
