A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

Dificid is a prescription C. difficile associated diarrhea treatment medication that is used to limit the severity of diarrhea and reduce the frequency of it by clearing the bacterial infection in the intestine. Fidaxomicin is in the macrolide antibiotic class of drugs and it works by stopping the growth of bacteria so that chronic diarrhea along with symptoms like stomach pain and blood or mucus in the stool are minimized and do not last as long. You may want to make temporary diet changes while using Dificid medication to maximize its effectiveness plus greater reduction in gastrointestinal upset.
Standard dosage guidelines for Dificid is to take 1 Dificid 200mg tablet 2x each day and taking the second tablet 12 hours after the first one. Medication may be taken with or without food, and children may have a lower dose specified for them based on their weight.

The active ingredient in Dificid is Fidaxomicin.
Tell your doctor if you have any history of major restorative heart surgery, allergies to azithromycin or clarithromycin, or have surgery scheduled in the near future before starting on Dificid.
Using Fidaxomicin may not be appropriate if you have any upcoming plans to receive a live vaccine or immunization.
Use medication when pregnant only if approved by your doctor to do so.
Overuse of antibiotic medications like Dificid may lead to bacterial resistance and mean that future courses of antibiotic medication are less effective or ineffective. Do not exceed dosage guidelines shown in your prescription.
Be aware of expiry date for medication.
There is the possibility of negative drug interactions risks between Dificid and other Rx or OTC medications, including p-gp inhibitors like cyclosporine. Tell your doctor of all medications you are currently taking before receiving a prescription and proceeding to buy Dificid online.
Side effects from using Dificid are uncommon, but some users may experience nausea, vomiting, or stomach / abdominal pain. If side effects are experienced it may be best to discontinue use and talk to your doctor again about chronic diarrhea from infection treatment alternatives.
