Entuzity KwikPen

What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

    Description

The Entuzity Kwikpen is a prescription insulin pen with insulin regular, a short-acting insulin that is used to counter blood sugar spikes that occur immediately after meals are eaten. It begins to suppress blood sugar rises within 30 to 60 minutes of administration and has a peak between 2 to 4 hours after injection. Entuzity insulin is prescribed most often for either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes patients that require more than 200 units of insulin per day, and dosage is commonly based on tests that determine how much pancreatic insulin is being produced and then how well it is being utilized by the body despite lower insulin production or insulin resistance with Type 2 diabetes.

You can buy Entuzity Kwikpen with a prescription and your best Entuzity price on it will be when you order medication online from Canada Pharmacy.

    Directions

Entuzity is to be injected 30 minutes before you start to eat a meal.

Injection may be made into one of 3 acceptable injection sites: back of upper arms / thighs / abdomen (excluding a 2” radius around navel).

Switch to a different injection site for each day’s injection; by not injecting at the same site twice with consecutive injections you prevent developing lipodystrophy of the skin.

Allow Kwikpen to be at room temperature for 30 minutes before planned injection.

    Preparation:

    Wash your hands.

Remove the pen cap and look to confirm the medication is clear and has no color.

Clean the rubber seal with an alcohol swab / attach a new pen needle for each injection.

Remove the paper tab and push the needle straight onto the pen.

Remove the outer pen needle cap and keep it to be used for removing needle following injection.

Remove the inner needle cap and dispose of it.

    Priming:

Turn the dose counter to 5 units and press the injection button in fully until reading ‘0’ (zero) and check to observe a small amount of solution to be emitted from the needle tip. Having this solution come from the needle tip needs to be seen before you proceed with administering an injection.

    Administration:

Turn the dose counter until correct prescribed dose is loaded / inject the dose.

At the injection site, insert the needle into your skin at a 90-degree angle / press the injection button down completely and hold it until ‘0’ shows in dose window / allow 5 seconds to pass before releasing the injection button and removing the needle / release the injection button and remove the needle from your skin.

Remove and discard needle only as shown in your prescription.

Store the pen at room temperature after first use.
