    Ingredients

    Ethambutol hydrochloride is the active ingredient contained in Myambutol. Inactive ingredients include gelatin, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, sorbitol, stearic acid, sucrose, titanium dioxide, and other ingredients.

    Contraindications

    Do not take Myambutol if you are allergic to the medication, if you have optic neuritis unless your doctor tells you it's okay to do so, or if you are unable to report vision problems or changes (i.e., young children, unconscious).

    Cautions

    Side Effects

    Vision problems; hypersensitivity; serious allergic reactions. including anaphylaxis; skin problems, joint pain, nausea, anorexia, vomiting, stomach pain, fever, headache, dizziness, mental status changes, and abnormal blood counts can occur; however, these are not all the side effects that may develop. Immediately call your doctor if you have side effects that bother you or won't go away.
