    Description

    Vosevi (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, and voxilaprevir) is a medication prescribed to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults.

    Vosevi is available in oral tablets that contain 400 mg sofosbuvir, 100 mg velpatasvir, and 100 mg voxilaprevir.

    Directions

    Take Vosevi exactly how your doctor tells you to. Your doctor will determine an appropriate dose for you.

    The recommended dose is to take one tablet by mouth once daily with food. If you take an antacid that contains magnesium or aluminum, wait to take it 4 hours before or 4 hours after taking Vosevi.

    Keep Vosevi tablets in their original container at temperatures below 30°C (86°F) and away from children’s reach.

    Ingredients

    The active ingredients in Vosevi are sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, and voxilaprevir.

    Inactive ingredients include colloidal silicon dioxide, copovidone, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose.The tablet film-coat contains ferrosoferric oxide, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, talc, and titanium dioxide.

    Contraindications

    Patients should not take Vosevi with rifampin.

    Cautions

    • Vosevi is associated with the following FDA Boxed Warning:
      • Hepatitis B reactivation has occurred and may result in liver inflammation, liver failure, and death.
    • Before you begin treatment with Vosevi, tell your doctor about:
      • All the prescription and over-the-counter medications you take
      • Your allergies
      • Your current health problems and past medical history
      • Your pregnancy or breastfeeding status
    • Vosevi is associated with a risk of hepatitis B virus reactivation.
    • A low heart rate that can cause symptoms may occur when taking amiodarone with Vosevi.

    Side Effects

    Headache, fatigue, diarrhea, and nausea are the most common Vosevi side effects. Patients may also experience other side effects; therefore, contact your doctor if you develop side effects that bother you or won’t go away.
