What is a Generic Drug?
A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Description
Vyndaqel is a medication used to reduce cardiovascular death and cardiovascular-related hospitalization in adults by treating wild-type cardiomyopathy or hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis.
Vyndaqel comes in 20 mg capsules for oral administration.
Directions
Vyndaqel should be taken as directed by your doctor. Any questions or concerns should be referred to your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is to take 80 mg (4 capsules) by mouth once daily.
Ingredients
The active ingredient contained in each Vyndaqel capsule is tafamidis meglumine.
Ammonium hydroxide 28%, brilliant blue FCF, carmine, gelatin, glycerin, iron oxide (yellow), polyethylene glycol 400, polysorbate 80, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, propylene glycol, sorbitan monooleate, sorbitol, and titanium dioxide are the inactive ingredients.
Contraindications
There are no contraindications to Vyndaqel per the most recent Prescribing Information.

- Your past medical history and current health problems, including liver problems
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
