What is a Generic Drug?

A generic drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality, consumption method, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients as the brand-name drug and works in the same way and in the same amount of time in the body.

The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is that generics are less expensive and may look slightly different (eg. different shape or color), as trademarks laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.

Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large sums of money to develop a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies can manufacture a copy of the brand-name and sell it at a substantial discount.

    Description

    Mediderm Gentle Medicated Shampoo is made for dogs with skin problems like dandruff, skin infections, and itchy skin. Its active ingredient helps fight germs and yeast. The shampoo is sulfate-free, so itā€™s gentle while it cleans. It helps wash away flakes and oil, so the skin looks and feels better. It can help manage the bacteria and yeast that can cause infections.

    Directions

    Wet the petā€™s coat thoroughly with water, then apply enough shampoo to create a rich lather over the entire body. Massage gently into the skin and coat, paying extra attention to affected areas. Leave the shampoo on for 5 minutes to allow the active ingredients to work before rinsing off with clean water. For most cases, repeat the process 2 to 3 times each week or as directed by a veterinarian. Take care to avoid contact with eyes and inner ears, and rinse thoroughly after use to prevent residue build-up.

    Contraindications

    Avoid using this product if any of the following apply:
