Description
Gel-One Cross-Linked Hyaluronate is a sterile, transparent, and viscoelastic hydrogel injection used to treat knee pain caused by osteoarthritis in patients who did not respond well to other therapies, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or simple pain relievers.

Gel-One is available in a pre-filled 3 mL syringe (1% solution, 30 mg total cross-linked hyaluronate) as a single-use injection into the intra-articular space of the knee.
Once the packaging is opened, the contents of the syringe must be used right away. Any unused Gel-One should be disposed of.

Ingredients
Each 3 mL syringe contains 1% (10 mg/mL) hyaluronan solution.
Contraindications
Do not use Gel-One if you are allergic to sodium hyaluronate or other ingredients in Gel-One.
Do not use Gel-One if you have a skin disease or infection at or near the injection site.
Cautions
- Before you start treatment with Gel-One, tell your doctor:
- If you have any allergies
- About any medications you take. These include all prescription and over-the-counter medications, including vitamins and herbal supplements.
- If you have any health conditions
- If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
- If you are currently breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed
- Gel-One should be administered following strict aseptic technique.
- Gel-One should not be used with disinfectants that contain quaternary ammonium salts for the skin. This can lead to the precipitation of sodium hyaluronate.
- Gel-One should not be injected into a vessel.
- Gel-One should not be injected outside of the joint or into the synovial tissue and capsule.
- Gel-One should be stored below 77°F (25° C). Do not store it in the freezer.
- Joint pain, swelling, and/or effusion may occur after injecting Gel-One. These typically go away on their own or with conservative treatment.
- Wait at least 48 hours before participating in strenuous activities.
Side Effects
The most common side effects associated with Gel-One injections include swelling, effusion, and stiffness of the joint. Contact your doctor right away if you develop side effects that bother you or won't go away.
